Description

Founded in 1925 and a leader in the production of Stainless Steels, Nickel Alloys and Titanium Long products, Valbruna is a private company with 2,500 employees and an annual output of approx. 250,000 tons of specialty steels. Production is primarily focused on Stainless Steels and Specialty Alloys, available in blooms and billets, ingots, round, square, flat, hexagonal and angle bars, wire rod, wire, reinforcement bars and threaded rods, with the expressed goal of satisfying the most sophisticated needs of the customer. To that end, Valbruna is constantly updating its production capabilities and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily processes from our Customs Broker and US Customs Administrator to ensure timely filing and flow of goods
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all inbound receipts for assigned FTZ locations.
  • Communication with respective FTZ locations to coordinate and validate inventory.
  • Respond timely to email inquiries regarding international logistics
  • Audit Entry/Entry Summary FTZ data with customs broker for forwarding to CBP
  • Correspond with foreign vendors and purchasing dept. to obtain documents and information necessary for Customs clearance
  • Consult directly with brokers to troubleshoot problems and coordinate action items for improvement
  • Classify products with HTS code
  • Knowledge of Tariff Rate Quota and section 232 duty, along with product exclusions
  • File quarterly HMF reports with US Customs
  • Audit import & export files for recordkeeping compliance
  • Audit entry summaries from Customs Brokers for accuracy and compliance
  • Resolve errors found on entry summaries with brokers
  • Maintain written operating procedures for internal compliance programs and nominated U.S. Customs brokers
  • Support activities/initiatives that align with the Customs Regulations

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Free Trade Zones and related operational activities
  • Knowledge and understanding of U.S. Customs regulations
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Familiar with ACE reporting
  • Proficient with Microsoft office Suite

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred
  • Cdertified Customs Specialist designatioin preferred
  • At least one year of experience in a customs warehouse or working with import procedures
  • Prior experience preparing customs and shipping documents preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to access and navigate shipping and warehouse facilities.
