Position Summary

The Critical Materials Coordinator is responsible for coordinating material flow, managing orders, and ensuring effective communication between mill operations and the commercial team. This role plays a critical part in reviewing order status, identifying potential issues, aligning production priorities with customer requirements, and preparing orders for shipment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance production capacity with customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between mill operations and the commercial team to ensure smooth order execution.
  • Monitor and manage customer orders throughout the production lifecycle.
  • Identify and resolve order discrepancies, delays, or material availability issues.
  • Review production capacity and planning schedules to align with commercial demand.
  • Coordinate with production teams to prioritize orders based on customer requirements and delivery timelines.
  • Track order status and communicate updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and system updates related to order processing and material movement.
  • Coordinate preparation of orders for shipment including documentation and logistics coordination.
  • Work with inventory and warehouse teams to ensure materials are staged and ready for shipping.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts in materials planning, order management, and production coordination.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in materials coordination, production planning, logistics, or supply chain. Aerospace/defense industry experience a plus.
  • Experience in manufacturing or steel processing environments preferred.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
