Founded in 1925 and a leader in the production of Stainless Steels, Nickel Alloys and Titanium Long products, Valbruna is a private company with 2,700 employees and an annual output of approx. 250,000 tons of specialty steels. Production is primarily focused on Stainless Steels and Specialty Alloys, available in blooms and billets, ingots, round, square, flat, hexagonal and angle bars, wire rod, wire, reinforcement bars and threaded rods, with the expressed goal of satisfying the most sophisticated needs of the customer. To that end, Valbruna is constantly updating its production capabilities and experience.

Job Summary:

Responsible for payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Follow the union contract for weekly processing of hourly payroll with accuracy, and precision.
  • Processing salaried payroll Bi-weekly, with accuracy, precision and confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and labor regulations.
  • Daily monitoring of missed punches, and daily tasks related to payroll.
  • Communicating with Supervisors & Managers daily for any related payroll outstanding issues.
  • Daily, weekly, monthly reconciliation of payroll ledger and posting of journal entry.
  • Prepare weekly and month end reports.
  • Use ADP and UKG time and attendance software.
  • Meet monthly closing deadlines with monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts related to payroll.
  • Advance knowledge in excel for formatting, formulas, pivot tables.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and confidentiality in all communications and interactions with all internal and external colleagues, managers, and owners.
  • Cross train and back up other accounting positions.
  • Perform special projects as assigned by Controller.

  • Excellent project and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with ADP, UKG preferred, or any time and attendance software, Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP software.

Education and Experience:

  • An Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field or direct experience in a like role is required.
  • At least 2 years as a Payroll Administrator.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
