Founded in 1925 and a leader in the production of Stainless Steels, Nickel Alloys and Titanium Long products, Valbruna is a private company with 2,500 employees and an annual output of approx. 250,000 tons of specialty steels. Production is primarily focused on Stainless Steels and Specialty Alloys, available in blooms and billets, ingots, round, square, flat, hexagonal and angle bars, wire rod, wire, reinforcement bars and threaded rods, with the expressed goal of satisfying the most sophisticated needs of the customer. To that end, Valbruna is constantly updating its production capabilities and experience.
Summary Manages sales activities of the organization by performing the following duties personally or through assigned sales representatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages Inside Sales and support departments.
- Completes initial Company Orientation for new Office Employees.
- Works together with the Branch Manager to approve purchase order requisitions for standard products produced from within the Valbruna group from the SCM Inventory Mgmt. system.
Sales Functions:
- Monitors the daily sales activity of the Inside Sales group including quotes and orders.
- Sales order entry and progression.
- Reviews warehouse pricing for branch products in line with GM and Branch managers pricing directive.
- Works with Branch manager to Review and approve the printed Shipment Verification report daily.
- Prints and reviews the Sales Backlog report at least twice per month.
- Identifies new potential customers.
- Suggest new sales ideas and strategies.
- Gathers market and pricing information.
- Maintains a current Customer List for marketing mailings.
- Establishes a regular out calling program for the Inside Sales group.
- Trains current and new Inside Sales and support staff.
- Ensures that Inside Sales staff follows policies concerning customer returns and restocking fees.
- Resolves Customer claims, shortages, wrong material, defects, etc.
- Works with the Branch manager hiring new office staff employees.
- Monitors attendance of all office personnel and approves vacations requests as needed
- Enforcing all company policies and procedures
- Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.
- Assigns sales territory to sales representatives.
- Leads the branch sales meeting.
- Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
- Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
- Coordinates liaison between sales department and other sales related units.
Inventory Functions:
- Suggests new products (needs GM approval).
- Assists Branch Mgmt. in the annual physical inventory process and reconciliation of discrepancies.
- Identifies and resolves inventory discrepancies as they become known.
- Identifies and eliminates slow moving inventory.
- Inventory Management using the SCM system.
- Advises purchasing department of mill related problems such as shortages, quality, etc.
- Initiates branch transfers from other branches to NJ and approves transfers to other branches.
- Periodically works with Branch manager to review rejected material located in non conforming racks to decide on its disposition.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees in the Inside Sales and support departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Strong interpersonal and communications skills. Able to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent project and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and deal effectively with conflicting priorities.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail are both critical for this position. Will be expected to complete assignments and tasks with both thoroughness and accuracy.
- Must possess solid mathematical skills and analytical skills.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Experience/Education
- 5 years' experience in sales with at least 2 years' in a leadership role.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Metals industry experience is preferred.
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to ITAR and EAR regulations.
